Click here to view more about this child care bus! There are both Federal and State regulations that affect the type of vehicle that can be operated by Day Care Centers. Under NHTSA (The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), a bus is any vehicle, including a van, that has a seating capacity of 11 or more passengers including the driver. Automobiles and some mini-vans would comply if the capacity is under the 11 passengers. These vehicle need only meet the MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) requirements. We do not sell these vehicles.

If you desire a vehicle that transports 11 or more passengers including the driver, you must purchase a bus. The type of bus you can purchase will depend on the type of transportation. If the bus will be "used significantly" to transport "pre-primary, primary and secondary" students to or from school or related events, the bus must be a "school bus". We are dealers for "Mid Bus" and "Collins" and can provide school buses that can accommodate 11-41 passengers.

If you want a bus that transports 11 or more passengers and you are not significantly transporting to or from a school or school related activities, you can purchase a "Bus". We sell buses that do not require a CDL (passenger capacity of 15 or less) and buses that require a CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with capacities up to 41 adults.

No matter what type of bus you need, we will make sure it complies with all Federal and State requirements.
